UPDATE: LIL BOOSIE SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS ON DRUG CHARGES
Lil Boosie plead guilty to the drug charges today. Judge Mike Irwin sentenced him to 8 years with time served. Boosie respects the courts decision and hopes to significantly reduce that time with good behavior and drug rehabilitation. He is happy to have the charges he was guilty of resolved. Lil Boosie is very grateful to his family, friends, fans and supporters.
Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie arrived at district court Tuesday morning for a pre-trial motion and ended up pleading guilty to drug charges.
Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, pleaded guilty to three counts of conspiring to bring drugs into a penal institution. Judge Mike Erwin sentenced him to eight years in prison.
Investigators said he tried to smuggle drugs into Dixon Correctional Center once and into Angola State Penitentiary twice.
After the judge announced the sentencing, Lil Boosie requested drug rehab. Erwin said he would recommend it but could not order it.
Supporters for the rapper were seen hanging their heads low once the judge made that statement.
On another note, he walked into the courtroom wearing an expensive pair of Adidas tennis shoes, instead of prison-issued sneakers.
There were about 12 deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office surrounding Lil Boosie while he was in court.
Lil Boosie is also charged with first-degree murder in the death of Terry Boyd.
Prior to the plea, Erwin refused to remove District Attorney Hillar Moore from the case.
Erwin later said the search warrant on Lil Boosie's house stands. He then denied a second warrant suppression. The defense said it plans to appeal.
Erwin set the murder trial to begin April 30.
Lil Boosie's lawyers subpoenaed Michael Louding, also known as Marlo Mike, to testify on Lil Boosie's behalf after repeatedly trying to get Louding on the stand.
Louding's attorney, Margaret Lagatutta, said she will fight the subpoena.
Louding is accused of six separate murders.
Prosecutors said Louding told them he was hired as a hitman by Lil Boosie.
It is unclear if the death penalty is on the table.

GTV NEWS: 1 DEAD.. 3 SHOT!
One man is dead after he was shot late Friday night in Grand Rapids.
Two other men were brought to an area hospital after being shot at the same time. The shooting happened around 11:45 Friday night in the area of Linden and Elliott on Grand Rapids southeast side. According to police two people were seen getting into a maroon colored SUV possibly a Ford, police say the SUV has gold around the bottom of it. The two men who survived the shooting were both shot in the stomach. One victim is a 20-year-old man, the other is a 29-year-old man. The man who was killed was 23. The 20-year-old man was brought to the hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable. The 29-year-old man was brought to the hospital in stable condition. Both men were taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

GTV NEWS: Women Plead Guilty To Giving Her Children Beer & Cocaine
A 29 year-old Connecticut mom, Juliette Dunn & her 33 year-old friend, Lisa Jefferson were arrested in July after the pair gave Dunn’s children beer on a playground. Today the Connecticut mom pled guilty to giving her 4 year-old son a 40-ounce Steel Reserve to drink & cocaine to her 10-month-old daughter. She is now looking at up to 2 years behind bars.
A Connecticut mom faces up to two years in prison after pleading guilty to ordering her 4-year-old son to chug a beer and giving booze and cocaine to her 10-month-old daughter.
Juliette Dunn, 29, of Success Village, and pal Lisa Jefferson, 33, were arrested in July after witnesses complained the two gave Dunn’s children beer on a playground, the Connecticut Post reported.
Cops found an empty 40-ounce Steel Reserve beer on the ground next to Dunn’s 4-year-old and a baby bottle that smelled like booze.
Playground witnesses told police that Dunn and Jefferson were lounging in folding chairs when Jefferson handed the 40-ounce to the boy and ordered him to chug it – and then called him an alcoholic after he finished, the Post reported.
The children were taken to a local hospital where they tested positive for alcohol. The 10-month-old also tested positive for cocaine.
The 4-year-old later told a social worker that he likes, “Natural Ice beer, Budweiser beer, but didn’t like the taste of Dog-Bite beer,” the report said.
Dunn told police that Jefferson gave her son beer every day, but she didn’t know how the baby ingested the coke, the report said.
Dunn and Jefferson pleaded guilty to two counts of risk of injury to a child.
They are scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 9.
The children were turned over to child protective services, the Post said.
