Soulja Boy Owes More Than $26,000 In Taxes, Reps Deny He Brought Private Jet
Soulja Boy celebrated his 21st birthday by making a large purchase: a private jet. Well today RadarOnline is reporting that Soulja owes more than $26,000 in taxes! The back taxes are owed in California since a tax lien was filed against him in March. This is all after his Georgia house was foreclosed last year. If that isn’t bad enough, TMZ is reporting that reps for Soulja claim that he did NOT purchase the private jet and it was all just a publicity stunt. Read the full story about the tax lien and what his rep said after the jump.
According to official documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the State of California filed a $26,805 tax lien against the singer on March 24, 2011. He also owed the State of Mississippi $3,571 in back taxes but he paid the full amount just last week on July 22, 2011. In other unfortunate news, his home in Georgia was foreclosed on last year, according to the Detroit News Tax Watchdog blog.
Soulja Boy, along with several members of his inner circle, perpetuated a lie about purchasing a $55 million G5 jet. At least that’s what a spokesperson for Soulja is now saying. Now, Soulja’s “spokesperson” Greg Miller has issued a statement on behalf of the rapper, saying the “elaborate rumors” are “not true.”
LETS POLLY: Obama Loses 36k Twitter Followers in #Compromise Campaign!!!!
President Obama created a barrage of activity on Twitter on Friday afternoon when he began urging his more than 9 million followers to tweet their Republican Congressmen to “ask them to support a bipartisan solution to the deficit crisis.”
The @BarackObama account then proceeded to tweet out the Twitter handles of Republican Congressmen state-by-state. The account has also been making use of the hashtag #compromise in an effort to drive home the message of bipartisanship.
The results so far have been mixed. According to NM Incite, the #compromise hashtag had been used more than 22,000 times and reached 36 million users (followers of accounts using the hashtag) as of around 5 p.m. ET on Friday, and people had mentioned the President some 28,000 times in tweets. NM Incite says 40% of the @BarackObama mentions and 28% of the #compromise tweets expressed positive sentiment, with only 13% and 12% of them expressing negative sentiment, respectively.
As we noted in our earlier coverage, however, some users felt the state-by-state tweets were creating way too much noise — the President has lost nearly 37,000 followers so far today. You can see the drop as the day progressed in this chart from Simply Measured:
GTV NEWS: 2 separate GR shootings along Division
Just before 1:30 Saturday morning Grand Rapids Police were called to the area of Franklin and Division with reports of people shooting at each other.
When police arrived they found one person had been shot.
The shooting victim was brought to St. Mary's Hospital and rushed into surgery with life threatening injuries.
Family and friends of the victim showed up at the hospital, and while they were still there began to fight.
Police, many of which were still at the shooting scene, rushed to the hospital to break up the fight.
In a second shooting, also along Division avenue last night, a man was shot in the throat. Police said that the second shooting is a separate incident from the first shooting.
A fight in the parking lot of the Auto Zone, on Division avenue just south of Hall street, broke out around 3 a.m. Saturday.
That victim was brought to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate both shootings.
DEAR DADDY...
Statistics show that 82.3% of African American children born in the U.S. since 1990 will not live in the same household as their biological fathers before they graduate high school. As a result, these children are affected by this harsh reality and lead lives of deep resentment, sadness, hate and anger towards the father that didn’t want to stay around.
Director Janks Morton took it upon himself to film Dear Daddy, a documentary about the life long effects of fatherlessness on women. The film follows the dramatic journeys of eight young women from the city streets of Washington, DC, between the ages of 14-24, as they struggle to overcome poverty, poor educational systems, no healthcare, and the most difficult life circumstance they have been dealt…the absence of their fathers.

Morton takes these young women through 4 phases: letter writing, letter reading, an intervention session and finding their father. Watch the trailer for this heartbreaking documentary. Props to Morton for making positive moves on the issue, but….
HOW CAN WE FIX THIS BLACK SINGLE MOTHER/FATHER STATISTIC?
For more info on how you can help Janks Morton in his mission to get his documentary to movie theaters, visit and/or donate to his cause on IndieGoGo.com/DEAR-DADDY.

UPDATE: Amy Winehouse's Family Believe The Singer Died From Alcohol Withdrawal
Amy Winehouse's family believe she died as a result of alcohol withdrawal after she stopped drinking cold turkey.
"Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death," a source close to family told Britain's The Sun.
Known as a heavy drinker, Winehouse had reportedly been told by her doctor to quit drinking gradually, but she ignored the advice.
Her father, Mitch Winehouse, denied reports that his daughter had been binge drinking in the 72 hours leading up to her death.
"He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid binging at all costs. Amy told him she couldn't do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely," the source told The Sun. "Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take."
Joe Pesci Suing Producers of Gotti Movie For $3 Miliion
Joe Pesci is suing the producers of the upcoming Gotti biopic “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father” for more than $3 million, after allegedly gaining 30lbs for a role in the film he was told was his….only to be told last minute that he no longer had the part.
In the lawsuit, Pesci claims reps from Fiore Films offered him the critical role of Angelo Ruggiero, Gotti’s close friend and enforcer. Pesci says he made a deal for $3 million.
But Pesci says after he was lured into making public statements about how happy he was to appear in the movie — which stars John Travolta as John Gotti, Jr. — the producers pulled the deal, claiming Pesci breached the deal by trying to back out.
Pesci claims he was offered a lesser role — playing Anthony “Gaspipe” Casso — for the lesser fee of $1 mil.
But this is the best part. Pesci’s lawyer claims his client relied on the contract by assuming the character of Ruggiero in every respect: “[Pesci] has since ended his very strict and healthy diet, and has so far gained approximately 30 pounds in anticipation of playing Ruggiero, who was well known for his heavy and stocky build.”
Pesci is suing for $3 million minimum, as well as punitive damages.

WTF: MOTHER SHOOTS DAUGHTER WITH A GUN SHE THOUGHT WAS A LIGHTER...
What a mistake to make, huh? Rachel Avila thought the .22-caliber North American Arms “derringer style” revolver was a cigarette lighter. She pulled the trigger twice, the second time the gun fired, and the round ricocheted off the ground...
Avila and her 12-year-old daughter “were talking with friends in front of their mobile home when Avila found what she thought was a novelty lighter…Avila picked it up and tried to light it by pulling the trigger. The first time Avila pulled the trigger, nothing happened. The second time she pulled the trigger, a .22-caliber bullet was fired. The bullet struck the ground, and then ricocheted upward and entered her daughter’s upper right arm.”
WTF: Man Holds Up Cupcake Shop With an AIDS-Filled Syringe
Now if you guys know me, you know how much I ADORE cupcakes…so this makes me even more mad than the average citizen! LOL! An alleged HIV-positive man in NYC held up Gigi’s Cupcakes late last week but not with a gun…with a syringe he claimed was filled with his AIDS-ridden blood!! WHOA!!
The robbery happened at about 10 a.m. last Thursday at Gigi’s Cupcakes at 5th & Grant St. Carissa, a manager, says she and another employee were in the back of the store when they heard someone come in through the front.
“(The man) immediately grabbed her by the arm and kind of forced her into a corner,” Carissa says. “He showed her the syringe. It was uncapped and (he said) it was full of his own AIDS blood. He said he was going to inject her if she didn’t open the register.”
When Katie, who didn’t have access to the register, asked Carissa to help open it the man became agitated at their slow pace.
“He just kept telling me to hurry,” Carissa says. Once the register was opened, the suspect grabbed approximately $300 in cash, and then left the store.”
WTF: Students In Florida Find Hidden Cameras In Every Room Of Their Apartment
Two Females studying in Florida made a sickening discovery in their Tampa apartment. The smoke detectors in every room were actually hidden cameras following their every move.
For three months, somebody was spying on 22-year-old Vanya Amokovareva, 22, and Ralitsa Dzhambazova, 23, while they slept and showered and carried on their lives, detectives said Wednesday.
“I’m feeling very bad,” Amokovareva told a local TV station.
The exchange students, who told investigators they moved into the pad three months ago, found the cameras on Monday and called the police.
Amokovareva said she covered the camera in the bathroom aimed at the shower with tape.
“These cameras at first glance appeared to be motion detectors for an alarm system or smoke detectors,” a Hillsborough County sheriff’s report stated.
And they were in every room of the apartment.
Investigators are now looking for the pervert who planted them.
“Detectives will attempt to determine if the system has been active,” the report states.
WTF? IS FACEBOOK TAPPED?
A fugitive who taunted cops on his Facebook page, “Catch me if you can, I’m in Brooklyn” has been captured by U.S.marshals. Victor Burgos was sitting at a computer with his Facebook page open when a task force of marshals and NYPD detectives tracked him down in an apartment on Jefferson St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Burgos, 29, who was born in Brooklyn, was being sought by the upstate Utica Police Department on multiple arrest warrants for domestic violence and harassment of his ex-girlfriend.
After his mug shot was featured on the department’s website listing its 10 most wanted last month, he threw down the challenge on Facebook.
Even more brazen, Burgos posted on his Web page a video showing him walking into an unidentified NYPD stationhouse believed to be in Brooklyn, authorities said.
“He told us via Facebook to come and get him and we did,” Utica police Sgt. Steve Hauck told the Daily News yesterday.
Burgos, who claims he’s a rap music promoter and uses the alias R. Mack Milly, was hauled back to Oneida County on Tuesday to face the music before an upstate judge.
His taunts were deleted from the Facebook page before he was arrested late Monday night.

Waka Flocka Flame spent the night in jail over the weekend, after being busted with possession of marijuana in New York.
The rapper (real name: Juaquin Malphurs) -- who represents Atlanta, but was born in Queens -- was popped in Queens, New York on Saturday (July 23) in the Coliseum Mall, where police arrested the rapper.
Waka was reportedly charged with possession of marijuana.
Despite reports, Waka says he was locked up, but not charged, accusing police of discriminating against him because he's a rapper.
"I'm finna jump on my flight 2 Kc ....... sorry 2 da whole m town 4 not coming I had spend a nite n jail with no charge #onlybecauseirap," he tweeted on Sunday (July 24) around 5 p.m. ET. "Can't no 1 stop with GOD got planned 4me no that."

Militant Mind Militia Calls Out White Girl Mob Over N Word
Minister and activist Paul Scott, aka the "Truth Minista", has regularly sent us commentary in which he takes on celebrities and/or companies over controversial subjects.
Most recently, Scott sent us over a new commentary, taking on V-Nasty and the White Girl Mob over the young rapper's non-chalant use of the "N" word ... and why she shouldn't alleviate the responsibility from its use.
Following the controversy surrounding the situation, V-Nasty, herself, took to Youtube to address it and was unapologetic about it all, telling haters to back off.
"On some real n**** sh**, how I really feel about these motherf***ers talking about 'Why is V-Nasty using the n-word?' Y'all motherf***ers ain't ever walked in my shoes," she said. "Y'all ain't ever seen where I came from. Go to Oakland and see how sh** be. Hella fake motherf***ers always asking Kreayshawn 'Why do you guys say n****?' Is it a f***ing race? Am I offending people? Am I saying it in a disrespectful type of way? Y'all mad at that, you need to be mad at this album I'm about to drop on yall's ass then f***ing haters. Don't be trying to change my vocabulary because I'm on and I got out the hood."
What your take? Agree with Minista Paul Scott or not?

New York-based artist KAWS is well known for his series of limited edition toys and clothing, but the former graff artist recently hook up with Hennessy for limited-edition collaborative bottle of cognac.
The collaboration resulted in KAWS putting his touch on the labeling of a limited edition bottle of Henny's V.S. Cognac.

The collabo is limited to just 420,000 bottles, with each carrying a unique number branded on the back and a quote from KAWS that reads: "Friends, work, music, art. It's important to find the right blend... KAWS"

STYLIN ON'M: $8.1 Million iPad 2
When it comes to ridiculous and unnecessary products, British-born luxury gadget guru Stuart Hughes has the game on lock.
Hughes, and his wife Katherine, create and sell unique one-of-a-kind luxury pieces that hold price tags that will blow your mind. From iced out iPhones and gold PS3s to platinum Macbooks and gold and diamond-encrusted plasma TVs, he's got it all. But, can you believe that he's created an iPad 2 that's selling for $8.1 million?
Crazy huh? In a frontpage blog post at Yahoo!, we saw this outrageous thing.
Dubbed the "Gold History Edition," the iPad boasts 12.5 cts of flawless diamonds, and is encased in a 24 ct. gold casing that weighs 2,000 grams.
The craziest thing about the gadget is its frame, though. It's made from incredibly rare Ammolite rock, stone that Hughes says it 75 million years old. The rock also splinters and shavings from ... a Tyrannosaurus Rex thigh bone, dating back 65 million years.
Now that's crazy!! This iPad is limited to just two units ... and coasts a pretty penny.
You can read more about it at StuartHughes.com.
50 Cent Cancels Album, Blames Interscope For Single Leak
It's been nearly two years since 50 Cent dropped his fourth studio album Before I Self Destruct, and it seems that the rap heavyweight is no closer to dropping what would be his fifth album than in the past. Despite a slew of viral material, moving forward seems to be tough for the rapper and his relationship with his label Interscope is suffering ... and made that very clear in a series of tweets on Wednesday morning (July 27). After Fif's Cataracs-produced single, "I'm On It," leaked to the Internet, he expressed his anger toward Interscope (who he claims leaked it), saying he's cancelling his forthcoming album. "Man I'm not releasing a album i can't believe interscope is this f***ed up right now. I apologize to all my fans," 50 wrote (@50Cent). "I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to many." He explained that he's recorded over 40 songs for his next album ... and has only turned in one to his label, and coincidentally, it's the one that made its way online. "I don't know how I can record 41 song for my album and the one song I give interscope leaks But I don't care its good music," Fif wrote. "I hate when I can't present my music the way. I feel it should be but f*** it check out I'm ON IT." |
GTV NEWS: Drunk driving down; driving high is up
The number of drunk driving related crashes is down, but the number of people on drugs causing crashes has gone up, according to the 2010 Michigan Drunk Driving Audit.
Michigan State Police released the audit earlier this month, and say the numbers reflect the fact they're now better trained to spot someone who is driving under the influence of drugs.
Michigan State Police Trooper David Cardenas told 24 Hour News 8 he has recently been trained in a new program called Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement. The training is designed to help law enforcement better distinguish between a person who is driving under the influence of drugs as compared to alcohol.
"There's always the odors. You're looking at the eyes and the size of the pupils, pill bottles," said Cardenas. "It's not just illegal drugs like marijuana and cocaine or whatever, you also are looking at some of the prescription drugs that you're not supposed to be driving on."
According to the 2010 Michigan Drunk Driving Audit, this new training is being reflected in the way the statistics are reported, with alcohol-related deadly crashes down 5% from 299 in 2009 to 283 in 2010; while drug-involved fatalities went up 29% from 119 in 2009 to 153 in 2010.
The audit also shows a slight overall increase of six fatalities from 2009 to 2010 due to either drugs, alcohol, or both.
While troopers are stepping up patrols, prosecutors are making sure people are paying the price with Michigan's new High BAC or "Super Drunk" law, implemented in October 2010. This law raises the penalty for first time offenders whose blood alcohol content is 0.17 or higher. The legal limit in Michigan is 0.08.
Under the "Super Drunk" law, possible jail time is increased from 93 days to 180 days and maximum fines go up from $500 to $700. Offenders can also be required to do one year alcohol rehabilitation, as well as other suspensions and penalties.
Prosecutors say this law is giving them more leverage to prosecute first time drunk driving offenders, and making it harder for defense attorneys to cut their client a deal.
"They want to get out from under the penalties of the super drunk law," said Kent County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker. "They're willing, 'please let me plead to a drunk driving,' which has changed the dynamic because it used to be, 'get me out from under the drunk driving.' So people really are trying to avoid the super drunk law, which is probably a good thing and it does act as a deterrent ultimately."
CAUGHT ON CAM: Canton PD "Notification" Arrest & Officer Goes Berserk / Threatens + POST REACTION (VIDEO)
A Canton Police Officer has been relieved of his duties after a traffic stop where dash cam video shows him berating and threatening a driver.
Ohioans for Concealed Carry released the video of the June 8th incident, where the driver tries to notify the officer several times that he has a gun and is a concealed carry permit holder. The officer becomes irate when he realizes the driver has a gun and starts threatening the man identified as 'William'.
"As soon as I saw your gun I should have taken two steps back, pulled my Glock 40, and just put 10 bullets in your ass and let you drop," the officer is heard saying off-camera in video. "And he would have been a nice witness as I executed you because you're stupid."
Canton Police Chief Dean McKimm says in a statement that the officer has been relieved of all duties and the incident has been referred to the internal affairs bureau for an investigation.
"The behavior, as demonstrated in this video, is wholly unacceptable and in complete contradiction to the professional standards we demand of our officers," says McKimm. "Anyone shown to be in violation of our rules and regulations will be help appropriately responsible as dictated by all the facts."

GTV NEWS: Charges dismissed for eBay child seller
Charges have been dismissed against a young woman accused of putting an ad for her cousin's child on eBay.
Autumn Braden, 19, was charged on July 21 with one count of attempted false pretenses more than $1,000 less than $20,000.
Now she has been referred to the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney's Diversion Program, which is similar to probation. Once she completes the program, Braden's criminal record will be clean, according toprosecutor William Forsyth.
Forsyth gave two reasons: the woman has no record and it was a non-violent crime that came from a bad decision.
"It was apparent that all she was trying to do was to con someone out of money," he told 24 Hour News 8.
Braden posted the 2-year-old child's picture with a $1,000 price tag, authorities said. Some people saw the ad and called 911. Braden later told 24 Hour News 8 the ad was a joke.
Braden was babysitting the child at the time in May in Ottawa County. Authorities there transferred the case to Grand Rapids police who conducted their own investigation with the help of Ottawa County sheriff's deputies.
Though selling under false pretenses is a felony, Forsyth opted to give Braden a break. He dropped the charge and placed her in a diversion program - similar to probation except it sidesteps busy courts and probation departments.
Similar decisions were made when students stole a giraffe off a billboard or threw pop bottle bombs out of dorm windows.
"In my mind, a lot of them have made a mistake because they're young, they didn't think through what it was they were doing and in my mind they should not be scarred for life with a criminal conviction on their record," he said. "You start filling out job applications and you have to say you've been convicted of a crime...my guess is you have a lot of candidates who don't have that."
The program, for which about 200 people a year qualify in Kent County, has been in place for about 15 years. For the most part, offenders stay out of trouble.
Braden declined to speak with 24 Hour News 8. She was ordered to make positive changes and to keep things that way.
