The news that Federal agents seized $500,000 from several accounts belonging to Kilpatrick Enterprise defendant Bobby Ferguson, including an account at a bank near Kwame Kilpatrick's new home in Grand Prairie Texas, has fueled speculation that money stowed in Texas was for Kilpatrick's use.
The Detroit News quoted Cooley Law professor and former federal prosecutor Alan Gershel as saying the coincidence would "pique [his] interested," if he was still with the U.S. Attorney's office.
But Kwame Kilpatrick wants you to know he knows nothing about Bobby Ferguson's bank accounts.
Dec. 12, Kwame Kilpatrick via Facebook: I have been made aware of media reports, in Detroit, that are asserting a claim that monies seized by the federal government, reportedly belonging to Bobby Ferguson, are in some way related to me. I, nor anyone in my family, have received any money from Bobby Ferguson. I have no knowledge of any of Mr. Ferguson's accounts, in Texas or anywhere else. Any reports that tie this seizure to me, my family members or my living expenses is completely false and malicious.
