GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A federal prosecutor based in western Michigan has received a prestigious award from the U.S. Justice Department for dozens of convictions linked to drug dealing in Lansing and other states.

Brian Lennon was recently honored for superior performance by an assistant U.S. attorney. He's credited with nearly 50 convictions and the court-ordered forfeiture of millions of dollars in Operation Holiday Express and Operation Rainy Day. The government says Lennon's work even brought him death threats.

In addition, Kaye Hooker, Kathy Schuette, Anne Towns, Janet Strahan and Gary Gibbons were honored for their work at the U.S. attorney's office in Grand Rapids. They organized statewide workshops for law enforcers in areas such as identity theft, hate crimes and prescription drug fraud.
