Grand Rapids police shot and killed a pit bull Monday morning after they say it came after an officer.
It happened around 6:45 a.m. near E. Fulton Street and Diamond Avenue.
Authorities told 24 Hour News 8 the dog had a neighbor pinned in her yard.
When officers arrived they say the dog came at an officer, and that is when the animal was shot.
There have been other calls in the past to the police department about the dog being aggressive.
