A man was shot several times Saturday morning while sitting in a car on Grand Rapids' southeast side, police said.
Police found the man on Sheldon Avenue just north of Franklin Street at 4:40 a.m. He had been shot in the abdomen.
The man was rushed to Saint Mary's Hospital by ambulance where he was taken into surgery. Police say that after surgery, the man is in serious but stable condition.
Police say three suspects were seen running south from the scene after the shooting.
Authorities continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call the Grand Rapids Police Department.
