UNCLE MURDER SAYS HE TRIED TO SIGN TO THE RUFF RYDERS!

Leonard "Uncle Murda" Grant is incapable of holding back. The all-too-candid Brooklyn rapper, who fought his way out of East New York's notorious Pink Houses projects, became one of Jay-Z's high profile signings at Roc-A-Fella Records in 2007. But Jigga's abrupt Def Jam exit saw Murda split from the iconic hip-hop label. But that's not the whole story. In VIBE's Wednesday video series, senior editor Keith Murphy sits down with U.M. who details his harrowing (and at times laugh-inducing) life from his infamous street hustling past and his two-fisted showdown with 50 Cent to miraculously surviving a gun shot blast to the head. In the third installment of Stories With Murda, the unfiltered spitter—whose buzz-heavy mixtape will be available for download next Wednesday on Vibe.com—discusses joining up with the DMX-led Ruff Ryders clique as he became the center of a citywide police manhunt for an alleged shooting. Murda indeed.
