LIL WAYNE ALMOST SALE 1MIL RECORDS 1ST WEEK SALES...

Having crazy first week sales doesn’t necessarily mean that you have the best album, but it’s a great achievement that will not look half bad on your record. After breaking the iTunes record midweek set by Kanye & Hov’s recent effort, Watch The Throne, the final numbers have come in for the first week sales of Tha Carter IV….964,700.
Early reports had suggested that the figure had surpassed one million but it was confirmed last night by Billboard to have just missed the mark.  Regardless, next week’s sales will push Carter 4 to platinum status.  Wow.. I honestly thought Carter III sold huge numbers as a one-off and especially since the buzz for Carter IV didn’t seem as hyped this time around, I was expecting around 500k or so.  It wasn’t my favourite album of his but Recovery wasn’t Eminem’s best either and that’s 4x platinum right now.  But hats off to Weezy and his dedicated fanbase that went out to support him; he’s definitely reached Eminem status sales-wise.  ”Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t” right? That’s what Jay-Z once said and going by that, even with his drug ban, Wayne is sky-high right now.
When Carter III sold a milli in its’ first week of release, Birdman bought Lil’ Wayne a Rolls Royce as a present. Let’s see if the Young Money President gets a new toy this time. - Team Supreme
