A 21-year-old Grand Rapids mother whose 2-year-old swallowed crack cocaine has been charged with child abuse.
Stacy Gatlin was charged Wednesday with second-degree child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and being a habitual offender.
Child protection workers got a tip March 8 that a child at a Franklin Street SE home had put drugs in his mouth.Authorities found drug paraphernalia, vomit in a trash bin and feces on the floor. They also noticed a large knife on a counter within the child's reach.

The 2-year-old later tested positive for cocaine.
Gatlin has already lost custody of the child, who is living with his father. A custody hearing has been scheduled for May.
Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.
