fights
Twenty-four students involved in a March 26 brawl in the Muskegon High School cafeteria have been charged with misdemeanors.

The incident started as a fight between two female teens and then escalated into a half-dozen altercations. No students were seriously injured.

Only one female was actually arrested on the day of the incident, though nine others were detained, according to Muskegon Police Capt. Leah Fenwick.

Overall, 24 students have received various misdemeanors ranging from resisting and obstructing police to fighting and disorderly conduct for their parts in the brawl, Fenwick confirmed.

Police are wrapping up their investigation and Muskegon County prosecutors are reviewing reports.
