A man now suspected of several Kent County burglaries was arrested after being caught leaving a victim's house.

Edward Murray was charged Wednesday with first-degree home invasion.

A Kent County homeowner arrived at his residence Monday to find the suspect exiting his front door. The garage door had been opened and property had been piled up in preparation to be stolen.

The suspect fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies who soon arrived on scene gave chase and apprehended him.

Authorities said they found items stolen from the house in Murray's possession.

After further investigation, authorities also found evidence linked Murray to several other Kent County home invasions. More evidence was found when authorities executed a search warrant at his residence.

Those crimes remain under investigation.

Murray was lodged in the Kent County jail.
