GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - About 200 Grand Rapids Public Schools administrators will get pink slips as part of a restructuring plan that's expected to close 10 schools next year.
MLive.com reports the district's school board on Monday approved giving its administrators notice that their contracts may not be renewed. The district will consider similar moves for other employee groups, including teachers.
The board approved the school closings in November. The plan is expected to save an estimated $4.4 million a year and about $22 million during the next five years.
The district's plan specifies closing schools including Creston High School. The changes mean the district won't need as many staff members.
THEY SHOULD BE FIRING THESE POOR JOB PERFORMANCE POLICE OFFICERS
