One person is dead and another suffered serious injuries after the two were shot at a Grand Rapids bar early Saturday.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. at the New Roosevelt Bar on Grandville Avenue SW near Van Raalte Drive.
Grand Rapids Police received a 911 call saying at least one person had been shot outside of the bar and the victim was being transported to the hospital. Responding officers saw a car traveling at high speeds and followed the car to Spectrum Hospital's Emergency Entrance, believing the car was carrying the victim.
When the car stopped at the hospital, the officers found two victims that had been shot. One of the victims was conscious, but the other was unresponsive.
Police say one of the victims died at the hospital and the other victim is in serious but stable condition. The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
