A 14-year-old boy is not cooperating with police after he was shot near a bus stop Tuesday afternoon.
The boy was standing near Dickinson Street and Madison Avenue on Grand Rapids' southeast side about 2 p.m.
The gunshot was fired from a group teens in the area, police at the scene told 24 Hour News 8.
The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening injury. He is not helping with investigators regarding a description of the alleged shooter.
Nearby Dickinson Elementary School was put in lockdown mode as a precaution. School officials told 24 Hour News 8 no students were outside when the shooting occurred, and kept the children in the building for the rest of the day. The school sent a letter to parents about the incident, and commended students and staff for their cooperation.
