At least seven people were killed -- three at a home on Plainfield Avenue and "multiple more" at a Brynell Court home -- on Grand Rapids' northeast side on Thursday, police confirmed as they try to track down the suspect responsible.

Rodric Shonte Dantzler, 34, is considered armed and dangerous. The Grand Rapids man is described by police as 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds. He may be driving a tan, four-door Lincoln Continental with aftermarket rims.
A relative of Dantzler said he was recently released from prison and very distraught.
He may be responsible for all seven deaths, investigators said.
The Plainfield scene
At the home in the 2000 block of Plainfield Avenue NE, officials keep pushing back the police tape. They are treating the house as a crime scene.
The victims are all female, and one is likely a child, police said.
Thursday afternoon, people were gathering on the street and consoling each other. Many were emotional, and neighbors said "this isn't the type of neighborhood where this happens."
Janes Avenue
Previous to the discovery of the three Plainfield victims, officials arrived to a separate location in the 2000 block of Janes Avenue after a mother called 911 and said her son had telephoned her, saying he had just shot his estranged wife.
When investigators arrived, no one was at the Janes Avenue home, near Riverside Park.
Brynell Court
In a third scene on the northeast side, more than 12 officers surrounded a house in the 1200 block of Brynell Court. Just before 5 p.m., police said "multiple" people were found dead -- at least four.
No information is known about the victims.
A Grand Rapids police tactical unit was there, along with Michigan State Police and deputies from the Kent County Sheriff's Department.
Police had their guns drawn and told neighbors to get inside their homes. They pushed the media and others nearby quite a distance from the house. An ambulance was on scene, as well.
Plainfield Avenue is closed for a few blocks north of Knapp, and Brynell is blocked off south of Four Mile Road, west of Plainfield.
Officials cleared the home and the SWAT team is gone.
Possibly related?
Officials are reporting a fourth shooting on the southeast side, but it's not clear if this is related to any of the other situations.
A heavy police presence is also in the area of Aquinas College. It's not clear what's happening there.
