GTV NEWS: 3 ROBBERIES IN ONE NIGHT...
The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating three robberies that occurred in the span of an hour. An employee was locked in a freezer during one of the incidents, police said.
The first 911 call was made around 9:53 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald's restaurant at 1240. S. Division Ave. The male suspect walked up to the drive-thru window and threatened the employee with a large, black handgun, police said. He was given some cash and ran away. His approximate age is unknown, but the only descriptors available are he was a skinny, black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wearing a large, hooded, brown- or dark gray-colored sweatshirt.
Then around 10:40 p.m., officers responded Kuzzins Lounge at 741 Leonard St. NW. That is where police told 24 Hour News 8 a man was hit in the head and robbed, as he walked out of the business. The victim was then robbed. He was treated at the scene for his injuries. The suspect is described as a black man; in his mid 40s; having a stocky build and a scruffy beard; and wearing a blue, pullover sweater with orange writing from shoulder to shoulder and blue jeans.
The third crime occurred at 10:51 p.m. at the Subway restaurant at 1540 Wealthy St. SE. Police said the suspect implied he had a weapon, locked the employee in the freezer, stole some cash and ran from the scene. The suspect is described as a black man, in his 40s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, having salt and pepper-colored hair, a stocky build, glasses, and wearing a denim jacket with tan sleeves, a denim hat and blue jeans.
Investigators don't believe the crimes are connected.

GTV NEWS: GUN POINTED AT POLICE OFFICER
Holland police arrested a man accused of pointing a gun at an officer Thursday night.
Police initially started searching for the 55-year-old Holland man around 8:30 p.m. after he threatened his ex-girlfriend, who now lives in Wyoming, and other acquaintances via phone, said Holland Department of Public Safety Capt. Jack Dykstra. Family members said the suspect had previously threatened to commit suicide.
Officers found the man's unoccupied car in a parking lot near Ninth Street and College Avenue in downtown Holland.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the man approached the officers. He waived a handgun in the air, pointed it at an officer, and then ran from the scene.
Police chased the man until he was cornered. After negotiations, the man agreed to surrender peacefully at 10:15 p.m.
Eighth and Ninth streets near College Avenue were blocked for about 45 minutes while authorities were in the area. The New Holland Brewery and Curragh Irish Pub in the area were both on lockdown, staff told 24 Hour News 8. The all-clear was given once the man was in police custody.
The man is being held on charges of felonious assault for threatening officers with a handgun.
